Photographing property in Brooklyn
A Brooklyn listing can move from a narrow entry to an expansive parlor floor, then out to a garden or roof terrace. A useful set of photographs should make that progression understandable. We look for the relationships between floors and rooms, the details that give the building its character, and daylight that makes the space read honestly.
For brokers, the best place to start is with a short walk-through of what matters most: a recently finished kitchen, a private outdoor space, original detailing, or the proportions of an open living area. The shoot can then follow the property rather than a fixed checklist.

Give outdoor space its turn
If a garden, deck, or terrace is part of the listing, confirm access in advance. A tidy threshold and unobstructed path help the indoor-outdoor relationship read clearly.
Keep the texture
Brick loft walls, millwork, and older finishes benefit from careful light and true-to-life grading. The goal is to show material character without making it look newly invented.

Before the shoot, note whether the property is occupied, vacant, or staged. For an occupied home, leave enough time to clear counters, tuck away personal items, and make beds before photography begins; standard retouching is not a substitute for preparing the space.
Send the address, approximate square footage, preferred date, and access instructions when you inquire. If multiple units, a roof, or a backyard are involved, say so up front. For rooms needing more than standard retouching, advanced object removal and virtual staging are available as separately priced add-ons.
